Michael has changed a lot. First of all, he is real. He has gone into a humans body, took it over, and now is controlling it. Second of all, he is less funny and more serious. Finally, Michael is aware that he was A tangent or A.I.

There are aspects of not trusting others in my society. Michael and his friends go through on their way to find Kaine. Along the way, many things try to stop him. The people who seem nice are very bad. Gunner Slake was a famous gamer before he was taken by Kaine. On page 232 it says," Why do I feel like I'm about to be sacrificed to the great animal god in the sky?" "Because, that's exactly what's about to happen."

Michael is a lot like Odysseus. He has a group of friends go with him to defeat Kaine, but the path to Kaine has challenges. Like Odysseus, Michael's friends all die leaving only him.  On page 256 it says,"And he was alone. He was completely alone."
