It really resonates with my personal experience battling a 'mysterious' (not contagious-don't worry) illness. It takes a lot of courage to go beyond one's comfort zone and share one's diagnosis. AIDS has its discriminatory effects as people may think "you could have prevented it, don't have sex"... It's rather ironic,how people only realise the importance of life,and its potential,when their life is in danger or changed substantially. However,as always,it is never too late to realise one's mistakes and start living a new life.

Regardless of his fate and mistakes, he made full use of his time here. Being one of the afflicted, he embraced his weakness and his stigma with open arms. Despite his inevitable doom, he never ceased his constant strife for justice. He made a stand for the confidence of all AIDs victims in spite of the death and embarrassment and shame he thought he would have faced. 

The hero Singapore deserved, but not the one it needs right now.

I think honestly I feel like he kinda got what he deserved I mean, if you lead a reckless life, you'll definitely get a reckless result and that was AiDS. In the end doesnt matter what he wanted it's really just your private lifestyle
