The village is in Katapur its where my my Grandfather and Grandmother grew up and raised my mother and my uncles and Aunties. Her brothers had given her money for a holiday in India called “rakhri” and after they were killed she ran away and had to spend the last thing she had of her brothers to survive.

She saw her village burned down and she fled closer into Punjab where it was more protected.

The Partition was strictly religious because most of Punjab is Sikh and Muslims wanted their own land and country. Muslims invaded villages and killed hundreds of people.
