Narrative music videos usually have lyrics that match the story of the video. A narrative is shown throughout the video that is often linier and easy to understand. this is one of the more common types of music videos and is used a lot in mainstream media music videos. these types of videos dont ever include lip syning from the characters, also the protaginists dont know theyre being filmed, it would be very rare for the protagonist to interact with the camera. it is common that the music video mimics a film genre, such as action or romance, these videos usuall include a deeper meaning as well.

concept music videos are defiantly the most abstract and unique type of music video, they dotn relate to the lyrics of the song and will often confuse the person waching the music video. the purpose of concept music videos is to create interesting and abstract visuals to make the watcher attrcted and intriqued. Sometiems the video can relate to the video in a metiphorcical sence but often it is completey unrelated. a good example of a concept music video would be 'good greif' done by Bastillie where the lyrics and visuals dont match, however the video did manage to entice and interest me greatly.

performance music videos are defiently the most common types of music videos currently, they are all over the music on the charts, this is probably becuase people enjoy to see the artist performing, this is sometimes half the reason people like certian artists, becuase of their look. performance videos usally have the artist up on a stage or in unique, interesting setting. they often look into the camera and know they are being filmed instead of ignoring the camera like in narrative music videos, this makes a connection with the artist and the viewer which is very good for the publicity of the performing artist. an example of a artist who has done a good performance based video is by Sum 41 - Still waiting.
