BLM is a political and social movement that seeks to highlight racism, discrimination, racial inequality and mistreatment of people of color by the police. They seek to promote anti-racism. The primary concerns are police brutality and racially motivated violence, specifically against black people.

How did it start?

4. The Jim Crow laws were a set of laws in the United States that in the period between 1876 and 1965 were in force in various American states. The laws formally equalized black and white Americans, but mandated the segregation of publicly accessible areas in which black and white Americans could move, such as schools, hospitals, buses and restaurants. In reality, the laws meant that the black population was put at a number of disadvantages compared to the white population.
   
   The Jim Crow laws did not imply a decrease of the civil rights of black Americans.

6. We want completely free health care for all black and oppressed people.

7. We want an immediate end to police brutality and murder of black people, other people of color, all appressed people inside the United States.

8. We want an immediate end to all wars of aggression.

9. We want freedom for all black and poor oppressed people now held in U.S. federal, state, county, city and military prisons and jails. We want trials by a jury of peers for all persons charged with so-called crimes under the law of this country.
