         <description><![CDATA[<div>The fungus, <em>Ceratocystis fagacearum</em>, invades the water conducting tissues (xylem) and induces the tree to clog its own vessels, preventing the normal flow of water. This causes the foliage to wilt and, frequently, tree death.</div>]]></description>
