Hello guys! I'm Fernando Robles, I am 18, about to turn 19 in February. I was born in Mexico and came to the United States when I was ten, my fifth grade. I considered myself an introvert so I don't really have anything interesting going on in my life. Since English is my second language I do have an accent (not much of an insecurity but sort of) which causes me to not speak as much but I am still fluent in both English and Spanish. I am majoring in sociology right now however I will be changing it to an English major so I can become and ELD teacher and help those that are learning English as a second language. I would also like to minor in Spanish but we'll see what the future holds.
I love eating 😂 but I am also a picky eater, my favorite food however is Mexican food (tacos) for sure.

When it comes to Dora from the novel, I would describe her character as dynamic and round character. She is neither a protagonist nor an antagonist.
The reason as to why Dora is a dynamic character, is because as stated in the lecture, the definition for dynamic is "undergoes change". Although we only get to know a little bit about her and through a third person point of view, the way she acts around Jerome changes a little after their many encounters.
For example, the first time Dora and Jerome met, she seemed more in the moment. To explain what I just said better, she seemed more optimistic and sure of what she wanted. That of course led to their sexual encounter. The last time Jerome was able to speak to her, she seemed less positive. Dora even offered Jerome a get away plan with her. After that we see how her dad abuses of her. That shows why she wanted to run away and lets the reader see her changes in behavior and mood.

I described Dora as a round character as well and here's why. The definition provided in the lecture for this word is "complex/depth, distinctly human". The problems she has with her father and her mental health make her human. Her character, although shown for just a chapter, undergoes change and the reader gets to know more about her life.

It would help a lot more to know about this character if we had a first point of view chapter about Dora. That would help the reader understand her true feelings. Through the third point of view we can only see how she acts, but never what she feels nor what she thinks.

I do however have the question, could Dora be described as a flat character?
The information we get from her in the novel lets us know more about her but is that enough? Would getting a first point of view perspective from her help her transform into a truly round character? or is the information enough to call her a round character?

This question may contradict my first paragraphs but I feel like Dora could fit in both, but I would like to know what others think.

I think Syndrome from the Incredibles would be a good example of a dynamic character. He undergoes a change, that although negative, changes his character's development in the story.
