         <description><![CDATA[<div>The neolithic Revolution began 10,000 b.c<br>Parts of the world impacted in the Neolithic Revolution started around 10,000 B.C. in the Fertile Crescent, a boomerang-shaped region of the Middle East where humans first took up farming.&nbsp;<br>The importance of the neolithic revolution is people trade to get resources they do not have in their own area. As Neolithic people became more skilled in their crafts, they wanted materials to improve the strength and beauty of the things they made.&nbsp;</div><div>Past importance.<br>The Neolithic Revolution was the critical transition that resulted in the birth of agriculture, taking Homo sapiens from scattered groups of hunter-gatherers to farming villages and from there to technologically sophisticated societies with great temples and towers and kings.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Columbus "discovers" the americas (1451-1506)</div><div>The explorer Christopher Columbus made four trips across the Atlantic Ocean from Spain: in 1492, 1493, 1498 and 1502. He was determined to find a direct water route west from Europe to Asia.<br>Christopher Columbus introduced horses, sugar plants, and disease to the New World, while facilitating the introduction of New World commodities like sugar, tobacco, chocolate, and potatoes to the Old World. The process by which commodities, people, and diseases crossed the Atlantic is known as the Columbian Exchange<br>Christopher Columbus was a navigator who explored the Americas under the flag of Spain.&nbsp;</div><div>His voyages across the Atlantic paved the way for European colonization and exploitation of the Americas.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Gunpowder was invented in the 9th century<br>Gunpowder: Origins in the East. “Gunpowder,” as it came to be known, is a mixture of saltpeter sulfur, and charcoal. Together, these materials will burn rapidly and explode as a propellant.&nbsp;<br>Past importance-<br>Their explosive invention would become the basis for almost every weapon used in war from that point on, from fiery arrows to rifles, cannons and grenades. Gunpowder made warfare all over the world very different, affecting the way battles were fought and borders were drawn throughout the Middle Ages.</div><div>&nbsp;<br>Modern importance - It has largely been supplanted by smokeless powder as a propellant for ammunition in guns, black powder is still widely used for ignition charges, primers, fuses, and blank-fire charges in military ammunition.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Neil armstrong steps onto the surface of the moon&nbsp;</div><div><br>At 10:56 p.m. EDT, American astronaut Neil Armstrong, 240,000 miles from Earth, speaks these words to more than a billion people listening at home: “That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” Stepping off the lunar landing module Eagle, Armstrong became the first human to walk on the surface of the moon.<br>The moon landing taught us about the composition of the moon.
