Hi! My name is Dr. Joe Davis! I will be your course instructor this term. I am really looking forward to working with each of you this term. Let me tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Virginia. I moved to San Diego in 1989 to start school to begin my doctorate degree program in clinical psychology which I successfully completed in 1994. I didn't think it would take 5 years but I worked my way through school and at times, held 3 jobs in the process. After that, I met my future wife Eileen from LA. We have been married for 24 years and have raised to great daughters (both in college). I have been at SWC for over 6 years. I have also taught at SDSU, UCSD, UCR, USC, USD and CSU-Fullerton. When I am not in the classroom, I work in the college's Personal Wellness and Behavioral Health Center providing mental health treatment to students. I have finished ALL of my clinical training and now I am preparing my license. I absolutely love working at the college and enjoy my courses in human development/child development and family studies. I am very approachable and try to make myself available to ALL of my current and former students! I like to say "pay it forward" as I am returning to my students what was given to me by my own professors when I was one. Thanks! JADavis
