Many bad decisions under pressure were made by George in Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. There was one in particular that stood out from the rest. George is a man that wants a job so he looks in many places. He has a friend, Lennie that stick along and helps out. They both traveled and traveled until they reached a farm where they could work. Many events occurred which resulted in some people on the farm not liking Lennie and wanting to kill him. George had to make a decision under pressure "An George raised the gun and steadied it, and he brought the muzzle of it close to the back of Lennie's head. The hand shook violently, but his face set and his hand steadied. He pulled the trigger" (Steinbeck 106). George had to make a decision of either killing Lennie with him being happy or kill Lennie of him being scared. This took a lot guts to kill your friend that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with. George had to decide under immense pressure and he picked a bad decision, to kill his friend. As it can be seen bad decisions can only be made under pressure.

Many bad decisions were made by Elie in Night by Elie Wiesel. There was one the really stood out from the rest. Elie Wiesel is the main character in the book who is a Holocaust survivor. He is placed in a concentration camp, Auschwitz. Elie is with his dad and they need to stick together as long as possible to survive. The book tells the story of his life in concentration camp and the decisions that had to made to survive the Nazi's power. Elie had to make a decision on whether to go to the other camp or stay in Auschwitz "When? Tomorrow night. Perhaps the Russians will arrive before... Perhaps. We knew perfectly well they would not" (Wiesel 81). Elie had to make a crucial decision on whether to walk on a hurt foot for many miles or to stay at Auschwitz and hope that the Russians come and rescue them. If they stay at Auschwitz they might get shot by the Nazis. Elie's decision to go with the group to the next concentration camp was a bad decision. If Elie had stayed at Auschwitz the Russian would have come and rescued them from the Nazis. As it can be seen only bad decisions can be made under pressure.

Many bad decisions under immense pressure were made by Romeo in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Romeo is a man wants to be in love all of the time. He loves being in love with a girl. If Romeo is not in love that he is sad and doesn't want to to talk to anyone. He needs to be with a girl. So he goes out and looks for a girl at a party. He finds a girl named Juliet. He finds out that she is apart of the Capulet family who is enemies with the Montague family (his family). But he still loves her so much that he doesn't care. He goes through all of the emotional trip until he can't take it anymore. He states "There is thy gold, worse poison to men's souls, Doing more murders in this loathsome world, Than these poor compounds that thou mayst not sell. I sell thee poison; thou hast sold me none. Farewell: buy food , and get thyself in flesh. Come, cordial and not poison, go with me TO Juliet's grave; for there mist I use thee" (5.1 80-86). Romeo couldn't take the pressure anymore so he wants to drink the poison and kill himself. This was a very bad decision because he could have gone away with Juliet and it wouldn't be that stressful. But he had to drink the poison for Juliet. As it can be seen bad decisions can only be made under pressure
