Mafia
Corrupt police/politicians
Beautiful women
Italians.
This could imply that "once you've seen one gangster, western, horror movies, you have seen them all" however repetition and difference are both at play in genre products.

E.G. A light bulb joke.
Q How many folksingers does it take to change a light bulb?
A Six. One to change the bulb and five to sing about how good the old one was.

Repetition = The bare framework of elements.
Difference = How the particular connections between those elements will be made this time.
