         <description><![CDATA[<div>Despite Portugal and China's governments providing funding for the voyages of Prince Henry and Zheng He, the two nations were driven by differing degrees of economic, political and social motivation, with Portugal seeking to secure profiting making trade routes to the East and spread Christianity while China sought to confirm the Ming's superior strength with trips for tributary goals. Ultimately, the effects of these voyages were vastly different as China abandoned their age of exploration while Portugal built a network of trade post and colonies and spearheaded the age of &nbsp;the Atlantic Slave Trade.</div>]]></description>
