During a supernova explosion, the sun implodes on itself, and gravity takes over. The black hole would disassemble everything into it's elementary particles. Black holes slowly radiate their mass off, but this process is extremely slow. It would take a black hole with the mass of our sun 10,000 billion billion billion billion billion billion years to lose 0.0000001% of it's mass. In destroying everything, it could destroy Information itself.

Information is typically understood as the arrangement of particles. Imagine a bunch of carbon atoms. Arrange them in a certain way, and you get coal. Arrange them in a different way and you get a diamond. The basic building blocks for everything in the universe is made up out of carbon atoms. The atoms don't exactly care whether they are part of an apple, a car, or a coffee cup. Information is what makes everything unique in the universe. But black holes destroy information. They take everything, and make it the same.

About 40 years ago, we had planet-destroying weapons pointed at each other, and we aren't too far from history repeating itself. If this keeps happening, we could either kill ourselves off, or, if technological progress doubles, we may be in another solar system by then.

At some point, the room will be completely full, not a single sock more can fit in. But, in theory, you could force the sock in the room, with a lot of pressure and speed. But, the room would end up collapsing in on itself, forming a black hole.
Disclaimer: We take no responsibility in any form for any injuries, fatalities, or the destruction of planet Earth caused by the black hole that you have created.

Gravity traps us here on Earth. In order to escape it, in a nutshell, we need to travel almost sideways to escape Earth. Earth is a ball, right? At some point , you would break the plane of gravity. Then, you are out in Earth's orbit. Things with mass attract other things with mass. The larger mass pulls on the smaller mass, forcing it into it's ring of orbit.
