Dr. Haley Sibley is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she majored in French Studies at LSU before attending medical school at LSU New Orleans. She moved to Detroit for residency at Henry Ford Hospital. When she's not at work, she enjoys knitting, cooking, hiking, and spending time with her husband and their two cats. She has now discovered all of the vegan baking pop-ups in Charleston and moonlight yoga on the Harbor Pier. Dr. Sibley is an Assistant Professor at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI.

Dr. Ashley Miller is from Cincinnati, Ohio, and attended the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill for her undergraduate degree. She graduated from University of Michigan for Medical School and completed her Oto-HNS Residency at Harvard. Dr. Miller will have a pediatric fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital under her belt when she joins us to further her education in laryngology and dysphagia.

Had a great time in Philadelphia for the American Academy of Otolaryngology Meeting. Dr. O'Rourke participated in two panels (Chronic Cough & Esophageal Manometry).

FEES Course

We held a full day Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing Course for the MUSC SLPs in July 2022. This was an invaluable experience. MUSC has FEES capability in all clinics as well as the hospital and ICUs.

Kirsten Meenan, MD

We are delighted to announce that Kirsten Meenan, MD joined us at MUSC O-HNS in our Division of Laryngology. Dr. Meenan grew up in Johnstown, PA and attended the U of Pittsburgh majoring in biology with minors in chemistry and theatre arts. She attended medical school at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA and did her O-HNS residency at the U of Maryland. She completed her Laryngology Fellowship at UCLA.

Renovations & Expansions!

The Voice and Swallowing Center in Mount Pleasant renovations are underway! This new expansion will increase our stroboscopy rooms to five, upgrade equipment, provide state of the art clean/dirty rooms for scope processing and a new Medication Prep Room. We are also upgrading the team rooms for increased efficiency. Construction will be done by the end of September 2023.

We are all also adding to stroboscopy rooms to our North Charleston office. Plans to really expand our professional voice services are in the works.

Ascona III Conference, Switzerland May 2023

Dr. O'Rourke was an invited speaker at the prestigious Ascona III International Conference. Her visit included a talk on the use of high resolution pharyngeal manometry as a biofeedback tool. Additionally, it was a chance for the pharyngeal manometry working group to meet.
