         <description><![CDATA[<div>Socrates and Plato believed the mind is separate from the body and continues after the body dies.<br>Aristole believed that knowledge grows from experience stored in our memories.<br>Descartes agreed with Socrates and Plato and thought the fluid in the brain's cavity contained "animal spirits" which flowed through nerves and into muscle.<br>Bacon believed that based on the way human's think and our nature, we believe things are more organized and more equal than what they really are.<br>Locke believed "blank state" is the mind at birth and our experiences write our mind.<br>Empiricism - view that knowledge originates in experience and that science should, therefore, rely on observation and experimentation.<br>Structuralism - used introspection to reveal the structure of the human mind.<br>Behaviorists - studies behavior without reference to mental processes.<br>Psychology - science of behavior and mental processes</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A subject's participation in research should be voluntary and based on informed consent.<br>Subjects should not be exposed to harmful or dangerous research procedures.<br>If an investigation requires some deception of subjects, the researcher is required to explain and correct any misunderstanding as soon as possible.<br>Subject's rights to privacy should never be violated (confidentiality)<br>Harmful or painful procedures imposed upon animals must be thoroughly justified in terms of the knowledge to be gained from the study. Furthermore, laboratory animals are entitled to decent living conditions.</div>]]></description>
