DO'S:

You should have minimal jewelry that is not too much

Your hair should be neat, so neatly brushed or in a really nice ponytail or bun

Makeup should be light

Clothing should be dress pants & a dress shirt

Shoes should be something formal

DONTs:

Don't wear sneakers

Don't wear really extravagant jewelry

Don't wear jeans

Don't wear hoodies

No messy hair (like messy hair or unbrushed hair)

Don't wear too much makeup

Interview #1 (Mrs. Michelson)

I chose to interview Michelson because she's a teacher who has had to go through the interview process. For her things we should do, the first thing she said was to wear a sports coat. She said to wear slacks and a nice dress shirt. She mentioned that girls should wear appropriate heels. She also mentioned wearing jewelry, but something that is down-lown. She mentioned being careful with makeup and to try to keep it down and to try to keep it down and not let it be too much. For guys, she mentioned they should wear a suit and a collared shirt tucked in. For her don'ts, the first thing she mentioned was to not wear jeans because it's inappropriate. Don't wear anything that's too revealing and nothing that shows a bra. She also mentioned that don't wear any stilettos or anything of that matter. No sneakers or tennis shoes either because it's really unprofessional.

Interview #2 (Sister):

I decided to interview my sister because she's been in the process of getting a job lately so she's had to go through an interview recently. She said to wear something that is business formal. So by that, she meant for girls to wear a skirt, dress pants, a nice shirt or turtleneck, and nice shoes. For guys, a suit with a tie that looks nice. She mentioned that she'd wear makeup to interviews, but kept it low because she didn't want it to be too much. For don'ts, she mentioned not wearing any jeans or t-shirts because that is too casual and something you'd wear if you wanted to hang out with friends. She also mentioned not wearing any tennis shoes because's is shoes. After all, it's unprofessional.

DO'S:

Wear simple elegant heels for the shoes

You can have your hair down curled or in a ponytail

You can wear a small amount of jewelry like one necklace and a small hoop earring.

You can have a good amount of makeup on with little amount of blush

You should wear professional pants and a blazer to match it with preferably (black)

DONT'S:

Don't wear sneakers or sandals

Don't have messy hair/don't have hair that isn't brushed

Don't wear tons of jewelry and necklaces around your neck

Don't wear a lot of makeup with very thick lashes that cover your eyes

Don't wear pajamas/ Don't wear tank tops/ Don't wear baggy pants

INTERVIEWING SOMEONE

The first person that I interviewed was my mom, I chose my mom because I feel like she has a lot of advice to give since she has worked at multiple places before and knows all about interviews. Some of my mom's ideas were to give eye contact throughout the whole interview, always listen to the people around you talking, and don't interrupt others when they are talking. My mom's do's were to dress professionally like wearing a button up shirt, flare bottoms, and heels. My mom's Don'ts were to not be shy, not to talk about necessary topics, and not to overshare if not asked.

The second person that I interviewed was my coworker, I chose my coworker because she is over 18 and has lots of experience with customer service so I thought she would give good suggestions. Some of my coworker's ideas were to also dress professionally like wearing a neutral color top with matching bottoms that aren't too baggy. My coworker's Do's was to have your hair up in a neat bun, light makeup with light lipstick or lip gloss, smelling good/good fragrance, and arriving earlier than the specific time you are given. My coworker's Don'ts was to not show up late to your interview, don't stare into something else when you are being talked too, and don't rush things when you are speaking.

Do's:

- Neutral color palette (Black, Dark Blue, Tan)

- Matching and coordinating clothing

- Modest makeup and nothing dramatic (neutral colors)
- Hair is neatly groomed and maintained

- Low heels or flights(Nothing over 4 inches)

- simple jewelry (Nothing dramatic)

Dont's:

- No messy / dirty / casual clothing

- no pajamas, no workout clothes

- No untamed hair or no messy hair

- No dramatic makeup (no crazy colors or heavy makeup)

- no strong perfumes / colones

- No revealing clothing (limit skin exposure)

Interview #1 - My cousin

I chose this person because they've been through multiple interviews and they are also around my age so they know what it's like being a young student trying to interview for a job. She stated that one of the most important things when interviewing is your appearance. For women having your hair in a slick back ponytail or bun depending on what fits your face is always important. Many times a suit will work and always wear neutral colors like tan, dark blue or black. Wear light makeup because heavy makeup will be hard to look at , as well as wear light perfume nothing too much because some people will find you hard to be around. She also suggested being nice to everyone you interact with that day because you never know who will have an impact on your employment status.

Interview #2 - My friend (Emily)

I chose this person because they know what it's like to be interviewed and have been hired. Some of the do's for interviews she said are to wear professional clothing as if you were rich going into a business meeting. If you look wealthier many of the times they are going to respect you more and depending on what your interviewing for you will get it. Also she said wear a perfume or cologne that is memorable nothing too strong and make sure it smells good. As well as make sure your hair is nice and put together and wear neutral color clothing. Some of her don'ts were to never wear heels that you can walk in, don't wear clothes that are revealing, light jewelry is fine but don't be dramatic.
