On page 2-3 their dad says that they are treating him like an ax murderer. I think the author chose these words because they show how much trouble he is in. My second post is on page 20 when their dad says they will have to sell their boat. I chose this section because it shows how much trouble they are in. Their dad loves to go on the water so this definitely shows how much trouble they are in.

What if the pollution’s coming from somewhere else?” I had no answer. It had never occurred to me that my father might’ve blamed the wrong person” i chose this because it shows how much Noah trusts that his dad was right about Dusty

“Shut up bull” said Lice Peeking . “You wouldn’t know the truth if it stung you on the butt. Now, Jasper, how ‘bout you apologize to me and my friend?” I chose this because this made me think of Lice wasn’t just doing everything for himself with this whole father in jail thing but he actually cares about Noah.

Flush page 93
Eventually the Black gloom was broken by a bright burst and I Realized we where Passing the lighthouse. I picked this because it is a really descriptive sentence. It described what happened in Noah’s dream.
This is important to the story because when he wakes up he sees his dad. His dad is supposed to be in jail.

It isn’t easy easy pretending that everything’s wonderful when you feel like you’ve been thrown off the roof of a building. I picked this passage because it describes how Noah feels after he gets beat up by Jasper. It also says Luckily there weren’t any bruises that mom and dad could see. This shows that he is trying to hide the fact that he got beat up from his parents.

as my father had predicted the Coast Guard shut down the gambling boat right away. Dusty Newman was not available for comment. miles umlatt and a couple of other reporters called our house and left messages. They all wanted to interview Dad now that his accusations were proven true. the old Paine Underwood would’ve easily picked up the phone and ranted but the new paine Underwood took Donna Underwood‘s advice and let it ring off the hook.
