Rubric for Lab

Thank you for sharing the rubric Mason.

Over the summer, I did pilot the rubric for allowing students to pass lab to go to clinical.

I was able to create the same rubric in Bb, which made scoring more time efficient for me and allowed the student to see what exactly they were being scored on each day. This also made it easier to give the student feedback, that they could look back on as the lab days progressed.

I had 10 students in the summer course.

The rubric has 25 items I scored each student on, after each lab day.

With that many items to score them against, I was wondering if I was to be using the rubric each day or just toward the end of the lab session and give them one over-all score. However, the point system is great and I was able to give a reflecting score that the student demonstrated....there were enough scores (25 items) to actually show a dent in the students grade. Being in Bb allowed them to see the progress they were making.

I'm curious to see more responses from the group as to how they felt it worked!

I did not pilot the clinical rubric.
