Currently, there are about 5.1 million children under the age of 18 with Asthma”. This is alarming and I think needs to be looked into.  Seeing what causes asthma in African American kids is not proper prenatal care, nutrition, and pollution in the areas in which they live.  Another fact that I found interesting is again the lack of medical care for African American children.  Asthma can be life-threatening if not properly treated.  Fair health care needs to be a priority for everyone.  In addition, I wasn't able to view a whole slide show just individual parts and would have liked to see the whole presentation. ]]> 2021-06-28 22:39:01 UTC https://padlet.com/sylcolman/uok6e6ca1jqe7ml0/wish/1629008865 Akieta https://padlet.com/sylcolman/uok6e6ca1jqe7ml0/wish/1629305238 Asthma in African American children is such an ongoing battle in the city of Philadelphia, it’s getting progressively worse. Reading through the information provided on this padlet makes it even more saddening. Working with children at a local hospital in Philadelphia I see this frequently . And to find out that it is affecting the African American community more severely just breaks my heart as it can be a genetic and pass onto children’s. I know that Philadelphia does not have the best neighborhood and there is too many people that smokes which will only make things worse and doesn't help to lower the rate.
