The City is still a great international market place because it is a good way for investors to enter in the whole European market -500 millions people-
with UK leaving the EU it could lead to a catastrophe for the financial area as well as many business.
Other outsider market place like Frankfort or Paris will certainly have a more aggressive approach trying to bring investors to them.

IMMIGRATION
UK should be able to control his border properly. Since 2004 and the entry of Eastern Europe countries in Europe (such as Poland, Lithuania...) many European migrants have used the Union's free labour movement rule to come in UK. Because of that the work market is very competitive nowadays.
Moreover, the inefficiency of Schengen has allowed illegal immigration to come into Europe without any control. Much of them want to come in UK that is why UK need urgently to control his borders.
