I would love to know more about your monthly choice boards and ideas about how to use them with my students, teachers, and families.

Also, I struggle with a few teachers who want to limit what books their students get because they can't "practice their reading skills" (not my words). They expect and want it to be more like a leveled reading room as opposed to free choice of what the students want to read. How would you approach this situation?

I am asked to give RLA lessons in the library that coordinate with the curriculum. I only have about 15-20 minutes to present these lessons. If you have ideas for exit tickets that would be an effective yet quick "check in" please give ideas. We have chrome books not ipads.

I would also like ideas for Launch as well as closing. (Quotes, etc.)

I'm going to second the requests for ideas on how to get kids (past 6th grade :)) reading and interested in reading. Book talks are the best tool I know of, but I would welcome any new ideas! (And thank you)

I'm interested in ideas for keeping kids engaged with reading in high school. Between testing pressures, scheduling conflicts, and all the extracurriculars, it's rather hard to get the kids into the library on a regular basis. I also second/third/etc. the question of time management when juggling so many responsibilities, some of which are visible to our staff/students/administrators, but also those that aren't.

I love the choice boards that you create. I am mostly wondering how you use them with various grade levels and how you roll them out. Do you post them on See Saw or Canva or do you just have QR codes that go to them?

My biggest struggle is time management. Any tips for how to maximize a 30 minute block with grades 2-4 would be greatly appreciated.
