I chose the most prominent theme as selflessness because he indirectly talks about it a lot. In one of the biggest scenes he receives permission to go back into the battle and try and save Askars (native soldiers). When he discovers a large group of wounded individuals he does not hesitate to help them. He applies tourniquets (devices that apply extreme pressure to stop bleeding) to wounded soldiers. There is no hesitation in mind about helping others.
