This whole time I thought of Scott as such a different person. I thought that he'd be so much harder on George and wouldn't understand her at all. However, it was a great surprise that he actually under stood George better then the mom did. When I read that Scott said this to his little brother, I smiled in shock. She had made things worse for George who has been going through so much and to think that George is literally just a fourth grader, its hard to think that he could be so depressed.
