The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and the Sega Genesis are the 2 most important video game consoles of all time. In 1983 the video game market crashed after the market was overwhelmed with unlicensed games, too many companies trying to get money from the craze and just bad games in general. The market crashed hard and it lay dormant for many years. The NES and the Genesis raised up and saved the videogame market. With only certain companies can make video games with the license to make it on the console. Without these 2 consoles we wouldn't have video games today.
