Personally I had a fun time reading this book, I liked Anthonys writing style a lot and there were a lot of funny and memorable parts in the book, though I will say I liked the beginning chapters more than the ending ones. The whole book is definantly worth a read but it was just my personal preference

The beginning of the book focuses a lot on why Anthony has his love of food, and shares his experiences of his early life and his humble beginnings as a dish washer at a small restaraunt.

In his journey to becoming a chef, he enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in 1975. An important person he met while he attended it went by Chef Bernard. He was a tough french chef who always pushed people but would say a lot of stuff that probably wouldnt fly by today. He would say things like “You dare call this cuisine! This… this is grotesque! An abomination! You… you should kill yourself from shame!” (Bourdain 42).
