A carat is a modern unit of weight for gemstones like diamonds. It is defined as 0.20 grams. This means that a diamond weighing 100 carats would be 20 grams. The modern word, “carat,” goes back to Arab jewelers who used to weigh their precious stones. A typical carob seed is about 0.20 grams, so the same diamond would weigh just the same as 100 carob seeds.

Other subdivisions, and slightly different mass values, have been used in the past in different locations.

The solution of the student, Shahd Ashraf Al-Zoubi ♥️🌼 Quartz:
It is the second most abundant mineral on the surface of the earth, found in all types of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks, has the ability to resist severe weather factors, joins the silicates group, appears in multiple colors such as orange, white, gray and red, and usually tends to transparency, which makes it have a vitreous luster.

Quartz is a brittle and crackable mineral that takes a hexagonal crystal structure, easy to distinguish; Because it has pointed and uneven ends, its face takes many forms, which may be: crystalline, bladed, radial, lumpy, or almond-shaped.

Quartz mineral takes two different forms: alpha and beta, and it also consists of silicon dioxide, which has its own chemical formula “sio2”.

When quartz is subjected to mechanical voltage, an electric current will be generated, while the quartz crystal will vibrate and vibrate when exposed to an electric field. This vibration and oscillation are characterized by high accuracy and regularity.

Quartz is characterized by its ability to have the piezoelectric effect, where this phenomenon is known as the generation of electric voltage across the crystal, allowing the passage of an electric current or an electrical signal through the crystal.

Quartz is called quartz, it has a distinctive chemical composition, it contains one molecule of silicon and two molecules of oxygen, which is abundant in the earth's crust, and is considered one of the distinctive gemstones.

Quartz is formed at different temperatures, has the ability to resist various weather factors, and spreads in deserts, mountains and mountainous areas.

It is used to weigh precious stones exclusively. The origin of the word is ancient Latin and means (little horn), which is the name of the seeds of a small tree that resembles a horn in its shape and since the seeds were similar and equal in weight to that. It was used to estimate the weight of gemstones, and it was adopted in 1920 as a unit of weight for gemstones.

A carat (as a unit of mass) is a measure of the mass of precious stones, diamonds, and pearls. One carat equals 200 milligrams, or another term one gram equals 5 carats.
The seeds of one of the small trees that resemble a horn in their shape, and since the seeds were similar and equal in weight, they were used to estimate the weight of gemstones, and it was adopted in 1920 as a unit of weight for gemstones.
However, gemstones have a specificity in weight to estimate the price, which differs from all we know of weights. The price of a gemstone increases with the increase in its weight, but in a special way. For example, to estimate the prices of diamonds, the estimate is based on the following
A diamond weighing one carat is estimated at a thousand dollars, for example
A 2-carat diamond is valued at about $4,000
The 3-carat diamond is valued at $9,000
The 4 carat diamond is valued at $16,000
In other words, the following relationship is used in estimating the price
Square weight x price of one carat (i.e. $1,000) = stone price
And during the purchase processSome other harvests of the stone are taken into account, such as clarity and purity, unique color and so on

Derived from a Greek word meaning green, the presence of this green color is due to the permeation of copper into the crystals.

The reason for its distinctive bright green color is its presence in the vicinity of copper deposits, and malachite acts as evidence of the presence of copper ores in that area. It has a luster of vitreous, silky, or dark malachite. It has a light green streak and brittle fracture. Its hardness is 4, its specific gravity is 4, and its crystal system is monoclinic.

Raw malachite is polished in an oval shape, which shows the beauty of its crystals. Malachite is often extracted from inside copper mines in the form of sharp crystals that do not exceed several centimeters in length and a few millimeters in width, or in the form of small blocks composed of very fine fibers, and according to the different concentrations of these fibers, Green varies in color, becoming lighter or darker.

Malachite is found in Zaire, Zambia and Zimbabwe in Africa, Wales and Russia in Europe and Australia.

Malachite is used as decorative stones and as a gemstone, and from which bracelets, necklaces, rings and clasps are made. Jewelers prefer to put silver wire frames around jewelry made of malachite, to give them more beauty, as well as small statues, flower pots and ornaments boxes, in addition to using it to decorate palaces, especially the palaces of Caesars In Russia, ancient painters used malachite powder as a green colored substance in their paintings, and it is more available and widespread than azurite which is found in
