         <title>The French and Indian War Ends - 1763</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The French and Indian War ended in 1763. It was a war fought between France and Britain. After it was fought Britain went into a depression, where money was scarce. They decided to make up for this money by taxing the colonies, with the excuse that the colonies owed them, because they protected them during the French and Indian War. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Quartering Acts - 1765</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Quartering Acts of 1765 said that British soldiers couldn't be housed in private homes. However, the act also said that colonists had to pay for barracks and other accommodations for soldiers. This enraged colonists because even though they weren't paying a tx, they were still paying for something they didn't want to. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Stamp Act - 1765</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>During the same year as the Quartering Acts, the Stamp Act was passed. This act said that colonists had to pay for a stamp to be placed on official documents. This made the colonists angry since they were having to buy things for something as simple as paper, and it made decreased their income. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Declaratory Act - 1766</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The day the Stamp Act was repealed, the Declaratory Act was passed. This Act said that Britain could tax whenever they wanted and make decisions for the colonists and that they were justified to do so. This made eh colonist furious, because even tough the Stamp Act was gone they got another act in its place. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Boston Massacre - March 5, 1770</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On March 5th, 1770, British redcoats fired at a crowd of protesters/colonists that were unarmed. Even though the colonists were being mean and throwing snowballs, they were unarmed. The redcoats fired and killed five colonists. This made the colonists mad that the British would fire and shoot innocent colonists, and this made colonists mad, and want to fight back.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Tea Act outraged colonists. They liked tea, and by passing the Tea Act the British company's tea was allowed to enter the USA without having to pay any taxes. They dumped 342 crates of tea. This was one of their 1st actions that showed deifying towards Britain. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>These acts were passed by Britain as a punishment for the Boston Tea party. These acts were intolerable and so the colonists called them the Intolerable Acts. They were mad at them because they violated some rights that were in the English Bill of Rights. This showed that colonists that it was okay for the colonist right to be violated, in the eyes of Britain.</div>]]></description>

         <title>First Continental Congress - 1774 </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the first Continental Congress twelve representatives from 12 colonies met to discuss their plan on what to do about the Coercive Acts. Here they sent a letter to the British King, and planned a total boycott of British goods. This was one of the colonists final ways to try to achieve peace. They also agreed to meet again in the spring if things didn't improve. </div>]]></description>

Even though the war had started, some delegates were loyal to Britain, and the other half didn't think they would stand a chance against Britain.
