He decides to put Max up for adoption because he thinks that will be best for him. The conflict between Sam and his dad. There's a conflict between them because when Sam graduates Sam and his dad had a deal which was when Same graduate he doesn't go to college and he just gets a job in contruction, but Sam wants to college.
