Who Am I?

My name is Aidan Ortiz, and I am 16 and currently a Junior. I am of Colombian and Dominican descendance, and I was born here, specifically in Miramar. Some hobbies that I have are writing, which I do in my free time like stories, characters, and writing the life or backstories for said characters. I like video games, more things on the FPS side or whatever random stupid games my friends like to get me into on Roblox as well as fighting games which is the main genre I play. I enjoy watching anime in whatever different genre, like action, romance, comedies, etc my all-time favorite being Naruto and others I really like being Blue Lock, Solo Leveling, and Jojo's Bizzare Adventure (Part 7 is peak). There's a running joke in my friend group that I own Roblox because not only am I a no-life having over 1500+ hours, but my second last name is Robles which is eerily similar to Roblox. For music-wise my taste is a bit obscure, but it consists of people like Odetari, 6arelyhuman, Asteria and way too many smaller artists that probably no one would know if I mentioned them. My favorite movie of all time is probably between Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man 3 or Real Steel which is about building scrap robots and making them fight in world arenas. My favorite type of food is without a doubt chicken alfredo and/or just a well-cooked steak. I've been to a lot of restaurants, but I can't say I have a favorite, but I do enjoy Flanigan's a lot. And as for the coolest place that I would recommend True Blue which is an art museum in downtown Miami that is just a surreal experience.

Plans for the future

My plans for the future include continuing my police academy and hopefully start as a 911 operator as soon as I get out of high school with the certification I get at graduation. This is motivated by the fact that my older brother is in the same field, and I have always looked up to him so much so that I have joined the same police cadet academy that he did as well as doing some of the activities and thing he did when he was younger. I hope to start with 911 and then go up and make my way to a better position to start my career in Law Enforcement. In terms of dream job, I would like to go into either CSI or FBI since it's been one of the things I have wanted to do since I was a kid and because of the influence of my brother as well.

Goals and Personals

Something I am proud of is my ability to write in terms of things I am interested in or that I like. I've stayed up hours and on some rare occasions even a day or two writing the backstories of characters or finishing chapters that I either get the ideas out of my head or I will forget. An accomplishment I have is getting to a sargeant at Post-067 which is not only a combination of knowledge but you as a person so I would like to believe that I have good enough traits for the position, and I am glad I was able to get it. A strength I think I have is the fact that I'm good at listening to people when they want to get their stresses out and I would like to think that I'm doing a good job since a lot of friends continue to trust in me with their issues or their worries and I like helping them out in whatever way I can. A weakness I can definitely identify is the fact I am forgetful or that I zone out a lot due to ADHD, more like in the sense you could explain the entirely of what happened in the Chang Dinasty and I would be thinking of what I'm gonna eat when I get home and not listen to you which is something I would like to overcome. Personally, I would like to improve in a lot of things like my physical ability to do things and my techniques in writing. It's always good to improve but never to the point that you never appreciate your own work.

Most exciting moment

The most exciting moment I have ever had or being "on top of the world" if you will, was when I was at a Super Smash Bros. tournament with my best friend (who I'll talk about in a bit later) and I had a JV4 which is pretty much winning without taking any damage at all for 3 rounds and I did that for 20 matches in all of the brackets which I then went to fight my best friend in the final match which I then won and it was just one of the most fun things I've done and especially with someone who is so close to me. Cringiest Moment

The cringiest moment I've experienced was the first time I met my best friend being Kevin Valdes in and 8th grade robotics class and we had a class project. We agreed for me to go to his house and as soon as I got there, his dad opened the door and I had the generic "movie awkward handshake" where he tried to shake my hand, then it turned into a fistbump, high five, etc and it was just felt like I was standing there for an hour and I wanted to just evaporate.

Favorite Assignment

My favorite assignment I've done was probably last year in reading where we had to write story and make a villain and make a plot twist at the end and I wrote about a guy and his best friend who went to school in a town full of murders and it turned out that his best friend was the killer who throughout the story killed the main character's family and friends which he then killed himself. Due to the trauma of witnessing all of those events, the main character actually takes the role of the killer and becomes the new one and it was just fun to write and explaining how or why someone might do a full 180 and how you can never know 100% what you'll do in the face of adversary.
