Aurora is a Norwegian singer-songwriter, who has her own distinct style in music. Her music's genres vary from Electric pop to Nordic folk music. I've seen her perform live in Denmark in 2016, and the energy that she radiates from the stage is phenomenal. She truly loves what she does, and it is very inspiring. She's authentic and doesn't try to be something she's not. She loves nature, and it is one of her inspirational sources for making music, and for that, I can relate to her. She inspires me to constantly develop my understanding of who I am as a human and artist, so I can authentically be myself and find my own musical style. Aurora said in an interview with Billboard (Hampp, 2016) that if she could use one word to describe her music it would be "Emotional" and that's the way I would describe my music.

I absolutely love Studio Ghibli movies, and one of the reasons I love them is because of the music. He's the one who inspired me to write musical pieces for big orchestras.

One of Aurora's biggest influences is Leonard Cohen. In an interview with NPR Aurora said the following about him: "His voice came into my life very early. I think I was in my mom's belly the first time I heard his music. Just listening to his voice — it calms me down and it reminds me of my mom. It's the same softness and delicateness, and also the warmth I feel like he has. His music and his words are just such a great contribution to this planet" (Guest DJ: AURORA on Her Love of Heavy Metal and Leonard Cohen, 2016, 9:09).

Aurora revealed in an article by Hotpress that she actually hates listening to music because hearing it would feel like interference with the music that is constantly inside of her head. "But I love Enya. I listen to her when I fly, or when I’m on the train. Only Enya. She’s the only artist I like (laughs)” (O’Toole, 2019, para. 11).

In an interview that Billie Eilish did with Q101 (2019) she named Aurora when she was asked if there was one particular artist or song that she heard growing up that made her go "That's it, I have to do music". She explained that when she was 12 she came across a music video called Runaway by Aurora. At the time she did not know who Aurora was or what the song was about, but she thought the thumbnail looked cool so she clicked on it. "I remember just sitting there and the intro played and I was just like oh that's what I want to do" (Q101, 2019, 2:54). Billie also recorded a direct video to Aurora, that was posted onto nrkp3 Instagram reels, where she told Aurora how much she loved her and thanked her for being such an influence to her.

Billie Eilish has mentioned The Beatles on multiple occasions to be one of her favorite artists and musical inspirational sources. Billie and her brother Finneas grew up listening to the Beatles because their parents were big fans of the band. “I always say it was actually the Beatles who taught them to write songs”, was one of the things their mother said in an interview with Variety (Aswad, 2019, para. 5).
In an interview with NME, she talked about her excitement to headline Glastonbury Festival (2022) because Paul McCartney, the bass guitarist of The Beatles was headlining at the same festival. "The Beatles were what raised me. My love for music I feel 95 percent owes to the Beatles and Paul. It’s insane to think about" (Robinson, 2022, para. 4).

I think Billie Eilish is very inspirational to me because despite her young age (21, born 2001) she has accomplished so much in her life. She is a singer-songwriter, and most of the songs she has released have been written by her and her brother Finneas O'Connell, who himself is a singer-songwriter and record producer. Billie Eilish released her debut song Ocean Eyes when she was just 13 years old. I think her musicality and lyricality is very unique. Most of her songs are quite sad and dark, which is something I can relate to as well as have an interest in writing songs in a similar style.
