The storyline discusses that we all have feelings, and how we can overcome them. Having big emotions and anxiety going into school, can be hard. We can use colors to overcome these emotions, by being creative, brave, and courageous. By picking this story, I want to show bravery and that all of the broken crayons will still color one day, just give them time.

There are comparisons and contrasts made in the story that indicate not everyone is made the same, but should celebrate who they are. Stepping out of our shell and becoming the person you didn't know you were, inside and out, is something to celebrate.

It involves showing kindness and friendship as Fern, the young girl, took care of Wilbur from the time he was a runt pig. This is an enjoyable book for students to read.

Each page has a different poem written by either a Native American, African American, or other diverse people. It's their version of how they perceive gratitude. It's important for students to know that they can write their version of gratitude.

This book has a powerful message that conveys everyone should have equal rights in this country. However, we find that is not true for Native Americans. The author takes us through his life. When picking this book, I wanted to convey the story of Native Americans and their struggles through inspiring pictures and words in the story. Learning about Native Americans as portrayed by the artwork and the heritage depicted in the book.

This is a powerful story about a young, Syrian refuge who flees to America and how she adapted to her new world. She found herself in a new home and new culture. This book shows the cultural shock that the character, Jude, endures in America. Enduring that culture shock, coming from the Middle East to America is big and loud. This story shows a different perspective and the hope and growth that she endures when living in a different culture.

This story shows the hardships they endured, kindness, love, friendship, and the hope for reuniting. It provides a perspective of each girl's life and the tough times they endured.

This is an important story about Women's Rights. It provides the reader the opportunity to learn about the struggle Black women endured. We are able to learn about the familiar leaders and what they fought for. I picked this book because it is an important part of history that changed what women did in the world, especially African American women.

This is a powerful story that discusses the dreams and hopes of a young girl who was a farm worker. She has to discover her voice if she wants to better her family's future.

After meeting an activist and joining the 1965 protest for workers' rights, she knew she needed to fight for better treatment and wages for the migrant workers. She was given the opportunity to be brave and take a risk to achieve her goals.
