I interviewed one student from my English class. I asked some questions to her, and there are her answers. She thinks all the subjects, like math, science, Chinese, English need to review before exams. This student usually starts review two weeks before an exam, because she thinks she can not recall some knowledge if she starts reviewing more than two weeks before an exam. This student’s review style is looking at her notes that she took in classes, which means she is an input learner. She never thinks her review method is enough, so maybe this student needs to her review way.

Then I asked another student in my class. She has some different answers with the first student. This student prefers review math and science., the reason is that Chinese and English are hard to review. She usually starts review two days before an exam. She is a output reviewer, she likes to do some exercise when reviewing. She is very satisfy with her review style.

Interview 1

In this interview, I’d like to find out some study habits which are effective and help us improve our learning progress.

First, I interviewed my friend. She usually use her spare time to do her homework and sometimes use study block to review. For the additional learning, she prefers to watch some educational videos. Besides, she isn’t in the habit if planning her study time accurately. While studying, eating snacks can help her better concentrate. And she prefers to study on her bed because it’s comfortable and convenient to write things.

Interview 2

I also interviewed my partner. He always put his homework in the first place, then play some video games and relax after completion. He chooses to do some extra exercises for knowledge consolidation. As same as the first interviewee, he isn’t use to planning his study time accurately as well. During his study time, he connects his phone with a media player and turn up the volume to the maximum. This reminds him effectively that he’s studying an cannot do anything else to distract his concentration. Therefore, he always prefer to study on a desk with a stereo.

For these question, we ask two of our friends. One is Susie another is Melo. Susie review the notes or passpaper to perpare for the exam also sheask or teacher if there are some question taht she doesn't know. She think that daily efforton learning is more important than review before the test. During the exam she will take deep breath to relax herself. What's more, she think skill of answering questions more importent. Last she will fit her time to prepare the review when there are many exam.

Melo will prectice the test for the exam. She also prefer daily efforton than review before the test. During the test she doesn't feel stress so she do nothing but she will feel stress before the test, though it's not a big deal. She thing that knoledge is more important than the skill of answering questions.What's more, if there are many exams in a roll she will according the order of exam to review.

Me and my partner jack have design 4 questions to interview our classmates about Chinese. One of them think that they do best in the reading part, because he just like reading and reads loads of books everyday. Also, he tell us that his memory is not so good, so he remembers poems and articles by saying it and repeating. He also give us some tips about how to write a good article, we summarize it as: using complex terms and put the article into different paragraphs. He thinks that we can do exams well if we do some review in Chinese

The second person is good at remembering things, like terms and texts, he tells us that he do it by visualizing, simply turn words into pictures in your mind. And he isn’t very good at reading and writing, but he also give an idea of how to write brilliantly: using specific structures, for example: summary，detail, summary. thats the basic structure of all articles. And he suggested that if you want to do the exams well, you need to better work on reading and writing, because these are worth more points.

The second student we interviewed is Regina. She told us, when time are limited, she prefers to review science first instead of arts. Because she does better in arts. And arts exams are more depend on accumulate over a long period but science exams need memory more before the exam. Then she just review one day before the exam because she will forget the knowledge soon, and there are many exams during that time cause she don’t have a lot of time for each subject. She thinks these methods are efficient and she is satisfied with her review style now.

The second classmate we interview is Zitong. She needs to review every subject so she begins to review 2 weeks before the exam. She prefers review by readings notes and textbooks, because the materials here are more comprehensive when the practice question may skip some important knowledges. Besides, because of the many subjects she needs to review, she doesn’t have enough time to write too many papers and checks them. She is considering to try other review methods, but there may be some risk on the grade if the new method is not suitable for her.

I interviewed two students from HDBJ school and here were their answers.

Firstly, I ask some questions about preparing the exam. She prefers to prepare for exam by review pass papers. She believes that the daily effort and time they spend on learning is more important instead of just having a short review before the exam. She trusts that the knowledge is more important than skill of answering questions. Then I asked some more questions about things during the exam. She said that she does not need to relax herself during the exam, because she will not feel stressful during the exam but before the exam start. At last, I asked her about time planning, she said that the way she arranges her timetable is mostly according to the order of the coming exam.

The second student I asked has some different answers. She also tends to do a lot of practice test before the exam, but she also mentions about asking questions to classmates and teachers if there were any unclear issues. She prefers to take a deep breath while she was nervous during the exam, and she think the skill of answering questions are more important than the amount of knowledge she has known. For the last question she said that she will try to fit her time with the timetable she has given for the exam.

Layla Li

I interviewed one classmate in my class. I asked some questions to her, and there are her answers.For the first question, she said yes and gave me the example of for physics and mathematics, she prefer to review some questions that she have wrong before as an explanation. Second, about review time, she believe that evening self-study is the best period for her. The most special answer comes up on the third question, when I asked her whether she preferred to review in a group or alone, she gave the answer that she would review by herself, because no friends with the same pace of review can join her. Next question, in her opinion, it is more important to do more exercises than review for thinking subjects. Next question, in her opinion, it is more important to do more exercises than review for thinking subjects like maths. As for the review of English words, it makes no sense to just read with eyes without writing, she said. Finally, about the time for revision, she told me that she only reviewed before exams.

Emily Yang

The second person I interviewed was my roommate Emily Yang, The questions are the same but fortunately I got some different answers, so let's recall them. She only answered yes to the first question. For the time, like Layla, night is the best time to brush up on old knowledge fro her. Comes to review method, she chooses to review by herself, because it is more efficient. For thinking subjects, she used to review formulas and accumulated model. The fifth question, about the most ineffective way to review English words,  she agrees that just looking at them with your eyes doesn't make any sense. Last but not least， my roommate reviews regularly as well, not just before exams.
