Keep network a live (most important)-> for new projects -> new money -> keep on working at the topic
Brussels:
families can enter university with children, interact with students -> open house! Neighborhood very diverse -> more conection with neighborhood, students interact with comunity
Let mothers play (without children) -> discover science by themselves, then want to come with child,
Empowering parents to do science eductaion by themselves

Vienna:
secure garden for school -> more school gardens for other schools as well
garden as place to activly interact with nature, experience that one can engage with urban spaces, low hurdels to interact with scientific topics -> also for parents!


Milano Hub:
open school, open for families, scientists, ...
focus on beauty -> important that beauty is around children,

Hungary:
Street-education
organise activities for the whole family
indoors: only 2-3 families, children ask scientific things - parents can´t answer, Hungary -> science percived as very serious -> scares away

More training on "alternative" / playful methods for teachers, insttitutions so that these approaches are more implemented

Hurdels:
Money
Involving parents: timeslots -> working
need to secure the plot
Parents do not acknwoldege playful approach to science
Parents perception of science / eductation -> playing has no value
Parents (but also teachers, educators...)  do not belive in the approach of the project -> learning through playing

Teachers:
do not like extra work -> participative development difficult
low motivation
-> if they see that things work (benefits for children) some get inspired (Brussels experience)
"No money , nor time, no apability..." -> argument often used by teachers...
sometime it takes longer to see impact -> teachers see success after two years...

Play more excepted by teachers / parents ect by younger children -> easier to implement playful methods there as oposed to school...

It depends on the teacher -> teacher education -> young teachers have dificulties to stand up against "old" conservative teachers

Gender bias: Scientist are men - primary teachers are women


Opportunities:
Threats can become opportunities!
Also parents can play in our hubs -> they like it -> see that it does not need to be expansive

Young teachers are different -> be a rebel in your school
Make "old" teachers reflect on their role as a barrier

What are concrete steps & plans?
Go to the streets &  Engage with more families
-> invite classes from schools in the neighborhoods to come to the hub, then the kids with the families...
talk to the local policy makers to secure garden -> kick off policy & refelection process
