Both have the same image of an eagle on the front and a one-cent designation surrounded by a wreath on the reverse side. Next came three varieties of Indian Head pennies, on which Lady Liberty wears a Native American headdress.  Para. 3

Elaboration: The penny shows important aspects of American history, the eagle is a symbol of the nation and Native Americans remind us of our true roots. It gives people a patriotic feel.

Elaboration: The penny is not just a piece of currency, it is an important part of american culture. It represents so much more than just one cent which is why the penny should not be abolished. President Lincoln is one of many changes that signifies leadership and he is one of the many role models our country has

People did not really like how big they were.



Elaboration: People didn’t like how large the pennies were so they were made smaller so that they could fit other people’s styles. This may hold sentimental value to some people.
