As a result of this, Tehran Militant students stormed the US embassy (in Tehran), took 66 American hostages, and paraded them around the streets of Tehran while shouting “Death to Carter!” 
After a year of trying to rescue these hostages, Carter sent four helicopters to save them. This mission failed as two of which had engine trouble, one was damaged while landing, and the last crashed down.
