We did 5 activbities

Activity 1 we just had to label the pipe cleaners that we were going to use later in the activities. Activity 2 is the one that I really enjoy doing because we were given Genotypes, and Phenotypes as follow.

TT or Tt Smiling, tt sticking out tongue, DD or Dd NOse, dd no nose, EE or Ee two ears, ee no ears, MM or Mm Mustache, mm No facial hair, AA or Aa two arms, and aa no arms.

I think that this lab was the one that we enjoy the most a s a class because we used Mr potato as our model, we did everything to him. so we were to play a little bit with the chromosomes and what the babies would inherit from their parents.

We were given genotypes of baby A which was normal, and baby B normals as well. They were to get married and have babies. We recorded the results in tables of the babies that they had. They had two babies and the babies were as follow. baby A was smiling, had no nose, had two ears, had a mustache, and two arms. baby B was smiling, had a nose, had no ears, had no facial hair, but it had two arms.

After that we made another generation of potato heads. We allowed baby A to grow and have kids. We repeated the process of fertilization to make babies Y and Z. The results for baby Y were smiling, nose, two ears, mustache, and no arms. Baby Z was smiling, no nose, two ears, mustache and two arms.

Then in activity 3 we just compared the results with the other groups. we conclude that the dominant phenotypes are smiling, two arms, two ears, nose, and mustache.

It is important to know your genotypes and who you are getting together with because it may have a big impact on the results when you have babies.
