Two things I would like to know more about are the mental struggles people with ACE's can experience as well as how that can translate into parenting.

(Report) I learned that in Alameda county reports show that increases in housing correlated to where low income people lived . Also It also provides evidence that these shifts contributed to new concentrations of poverty and racial segregation in the County and perpetuating racial disparities in access to high-resource neighborhoods. I want to know what are somethings the county can do to stop the re segrregation on people of color , and also why this is happening . One question I have is who are the people behind the high housing cost .

Lastly, I also learned that low-income students of color have less access to early education.

Something else I learned was bilingual education is not an invention of the 1960s. Contrary to popular misconception, earlier waves of immigrants often enrolled their children in bilingual or non English-language schools public and private.

And finally I learned that political winds shifted during the World War I era. There were fears about the loyalty of non-English speakers in general.

One of the ways schools can implement support for students struggling with mental health is by " sources of strength" this is a support group that reaches out to students when they can see someone that's struggling, this group is trained once a year where they are trained to help and listen to ones in need, they even go around the school to give presentations about anxiety and other mental health topics,

• I learned that living in Oakland there are more liquor stores than grocery stores. I also learned that the less people have access to healthy foods, the less access they have to living a long healthy life. I also learned that food desserts affect mostly African American students which shows how the cycle of racism has never ended by keeping Black people from healthy foods.

The high cost of housing in the Bay Area, the increase in unaccompanied immigrant children, and changes in data collection are contributing factors to this increase.

During the pandemic, many families living in shared homes left their homes to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

I would like to know more about:

The specific strategies Oakland Unified is implementing to support homeless students.

Resources and programs available through the McKinney-Vento office in OUSD for these students.

One question I still have is: What are the personal stories of some of these students and how have they faced the challenges of homelessness?

I learned that Fremont High's restorative justice has worked hard to grow relationships, trust, and community, due to their bad reputation. They are repairing the harm done to students who misbehave. Over the years, they thought of doing a program to bring restorative justice practices to every classroom. With this program, students hold conferences to welcome newcomers, get to know one another, and build bridges. As well as, learning and leading their circles, making it easier for students to gain confidence.

One question I have is, how is that working for them now? Are they still doing the program? Has it helped others throughout the year?

I learned that the Justice Department is suing Tik Tok because it allowed user under 13 years to create accounts without a parents supervision which causes a violation of the children's online privacy. Gen Z users use the search engine to look for advice about mental health which makes the app's algorithm to show videos regarding mental health. Niku Sedarat who is an 18 year old from San Jose participated of a program to to provide psychoeducational resources for everybody when it came to mental health care.

I want to know more about the positive side of TikTok helping their users.

I wonder what the percentage of tik Tok users have been affected negatively the same way the high school student was.

Recently a sample of water from a kitchen faucet at Edna Brewer Middle School was tested with lead. Many other school's are contaminated as well. The schools with high levels of lead are determined whether or not they can stay opened. Filtered water dispensers are often being installed in the schools.

Something I want to learn more about is how the water gets contaminated with lead. I also want to know how lead impacts peoples health.

1.Air pollution affects more BIPOC(Black, Indigenous, and people of color) children living on neighborhoods near Oakland ca. and Richmond ca. due to traffic on freeways.

2.The BAAQMD (Bay area, air Quality, Management,District.)approved the rule, which requires local refineries to install wet gas scrubbing technology on their worst polluting units.

3.The December 2021 community meeting, proved that the ban continues to be divisive, placing communities living near both freeways (880,580,980,680) against each other.
