In turn, white tail deer and wild pigs consumed acres of farmland such as soybeans, corn, etc.. The destroyed crops caused less of a food source for people and farm animals and economic calamity for farmers. One large farm highly affected by the deer and wild pig population turned away from growing crops for consumption and instead began to grow turf grass for homes. The plants the deer eats would overpopulate because they would not have a consumer. If there were too few decomposers then we would have dead animals that wouldn't break down. This would also impact nutrients being put back into the soil.
