As a child I got don't open the door, never leave alone after dark, and stranger danger talks.<br>3. I think black parents feel it's important to have these talks because they are scared that someone racist and dangerous could deem their child a threat and they want to prevent any harm as much as possible.<br>4. This book is very hard to relate to for me. I don't experience any problems as harsh as in the book.<br>5. Thomas definitely explores multiple themes. I think Thomas is trying to show a real life perspective on how it is to black and the stereotypes surrounding the skin or place someone was born.</div>]]></description>
