The Corporate Transparency Act Regulations apply to companies that conduct business in the United States or receive payments from customers in the U.S., even if they are incorporated overseas and have no physical presence here. The act also applies to all U.S.-based corporations and partnerships that own or control these foreign entities.

The CTA covers all publicly traded companies, many privately held corporations, and partnerships such as limited liability companies (LLCs). It also applies to any foreign entity that provides goods or services to a company in the United States, even if that company is not itself required to register under this law.
