This sunflower shows how beautifully its blooming, like their family once they start discussing a new house. Travis is over the moon when he learned he would have his own room, yard and as he grows into an adult, that house will most likely be his. This is their new beginning as a whole family and their life. They're grateful for the beautiful growth they have together, even to earn respect for Big Walter. As if he were a role model to young Travis and all he wants to do is make him proud of his son. Travis wants to be a bus driver in the play but when Walter asks him why, he replies with he doesn't know that all he wants is to be like his dad and although his dad has made mistakes, Travis will still see the good in his father.
