Strong institutions are important contributors towards sustaining economic growth and stability according to economist. Due to the increasing globalization amongst the Caribbean environment these astonishing achievements will continue to help the region flourish in the best way possible. It is crucial to protect these achievements in the competitive global environment, human capital is the single most critical component in promoting growth opportunities within the region. For policy makers the most essential attribute should be the conquering of comparative advantages such as specializing and developing the thriving tourism sector. Efforts to revolutionize the agriculture and management sector has yet to be fulfilled. The ultimatum that the region has to deal with is changing the islands, and competing in today's global economy. The region has strived to develop advanced financial markets that have strong cross border linkages, which have been used to finance public debt to levels that are now among the highest in the world.

Convergence and coordination of economic policies, and steps to strengthen financial sector linkages are key to successful integration. The international arena is very competitive and hostile, even though globalization will yield great benefits this will be challenge. A few examples of the benefits of globalization, would be investment funding or an increase in the market for tourism. Increasing integration with the world economy means taking advantage of opportunities presented by globalization. Globalization comes with new risks and vulnerabilities Regional integration if executed properly can be compatible towards the process of global integration. Small states or open economies, like the island nations of the Caribbean, regional integration may be critical to overcome some of the natural disadvantages and limitations that small nation states face with respect to the unavoidable forces of globalization.

Citizens in the Caribbean region (CARICOM) are not only citizens belonging to a particular country or island, they are also members of the region. There are still conflicts that are a cause for concern towards the integration process. Citizens must display cohesion in the entire region. It is very essential for citizens to educate themselves on culture and diversification occurring in the region. Citizens should invest or support local or regional businesses. They should also support the effort by buying goods produced in the region or locally, should deter from importation but promote exportation for goods and services.

Businesses should focus on the quality and quantity of goods and services produced so that they can compete on the international market. Businesses should also invest resources, time and funding into advertising campaigns so that the CARICOM market can be displayed on the international market. Businessmen should take advantage of opportunities for investment in the region.

It is essential for governments to educate their citizens about the benefits and possible outcomes of regional integration, therefore education is the most effective way to bring about regional integration awareness amongst the citizens. The Government should also ensure that legislation made in the region is void of all forms of discrimination. The Government should also implement policies making it comfortable for persons to work or travel within the region. Honouring policies/agreements and all protocols by ensuring that treaties signed are observed, and making the effort to think about the region in spite of particular territories which would be beneficial to regional integration.
