The distance between Mahallah Zaid Harithah and KLM is very far and it takes in half an hour to walk or ride a bicycle and scooter. Nowadays, students prefer to use their own car rather than waiting for the bus at the cafe and walking. But, didn't we realise that ignoring carpooling can have several negative consequences either to us or society?. Before I knew the details about sdg, I liked to use my own car to go to class, go shopping, buy groceries and go home. For me, it is because of its more privacy and comfortable environment. Personal cars offer a private and comfortable environment. In addition, I can also control the cleanliness, temperature, and overall ambiance of my vehicles, providing a more personalised and comfortable travel experience. Besides, using our own personal car, it can provides the convenience of carrying personal belongings, groceries, or other items without the limitations of space or restrictions imposed by public transportation. However, as a human of society, I need to apply the SDG concept in my life to protect the earth and ensure that all people enjoy health, justice and prosperity.

DURING EXPERIENCE

Afterwards, I decided to make a poster about saving the environment and post it on Instagram apps to raise the awareness among students as they will learn new knowledge about the advantages of carpool and using public transportation. It went well since most of them agreed through likes and giving their comments on the encouragement to save the environment. Accordingly, I have suggested them to use public transport such as buses to get to KLM and I have also provided a shuttle bus schedule for reference. To sum up, we have learnt that using a public transportation will save the environment for a better future such as reducing Single-Occupancy Vehicle Use.

AFTER EXPERIENCE

Finally, we were able to apply the use of public transportation among IIUM Pagoh students. They have also reduced the use of their own cars, and practice carpooling to go to class. As a result, it will be conducive to learning and life for students. This also helps us achieve one of the SDG goals of responsible consumption and production. Finally, let us all save the earth by practising the use of public transport in our daily lives because all big things come from small beginnings.
