The story starts with the narrator holding a gun in his mouth while standing on top of a building thats about to explode. Then it goes back in time to explain how he got there. He has severe insomnia and feels empty with his normal life. To sleep, he starts going to support groups for people with serious illnesses, even though he’s not sick. Crying there helps him sleep until Marla Singer shows up and ruins everything.

Overview:
