I was surprised about the parents having the most choice in who a person marries.

Its sad that one has to complete all these documents and forms before they get married. Marriage should be based off love for one another and not just because they want to satisfy their parents.

I really I am surprised that the couple has to get an approval from a registration office, because what if they disapprove it what does the couple do then? and why should an registration office determine whether you can marry your significant other or not. At the end of the day you are basically giving strangers the right to control your marriage and essentially your life.

I really like that flowers are an essential part of the wedding. They're a beautiful decoration and have a positive connotation to them so it adds more joy to the wedding.

Nothing about it really surprised me. It was all stuff that I had heard before or I had read in the TJLC if anything took me back is was that they had to fill out as many forms as they did .

Something really intersecting is the idea of "leftovers" I think it is a unique idea, sad, but I think it was very cool how once they got to a cretin age they were done. I always thought of arranged marriages as happening at any age, but they were at different ages and they were out of the running once they passed that age. This was the most interesting for the males.
