         <description><![CDATA[<div>He was one of the most famous and powerful gangsters of the 1920s and early 1930s in Chicago. Known as "Scarface," he became notorious for his illegal activities, which included bootlegging during Prohibition. He was captured in 1931 by U.S. Treasury agent Eliot Ness and his team of "The Untouchables." Ness was a Prohibition officer who fought organized crime in Chicago and became a legend in his time. Ness used innovative tactics such as wiretapping and undercover work to bring Capone to justice. After being convicted of tax evasion, Capone was sent to Alcatraz prison. Interesting facts about Eliot Ness include that he was inspired by his father, who was a Chicago police officer, and that after his law enforcement career, he worked as a security consultant for private companies.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>He was an American gangster active during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Known for his cunning and ability to evade the law, Dillinger committed a series of robberies and murders before being killed by the United States Bureau of Investigation (later known as the FBI) in 1934. He was the first gangster to be declared Public Enemy Number One by the FBI, and became a legendary figure in his time. Dillinger was finally captured and killed by FBI Special Agent Melvin Purvis, who used innovative tactics such as the use of phone tracking technology to locate Dillinger and his gang. Interesting facts about Purvis include that he was also one of the agents who helped capture other famous gangsters, such as Pretty Boy Floyd and Baby Face Nelson, and that he later had financial troubles and committed suicide in 1960.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>He was an Italian-American gangster who became the boss of the American mafia in the 1930s. Luciano was one of the first gangsters to organize and consolidate the power of the mafia in the United States, and is believed to have been responsible for the creation of the National Crime Syndicate, which oversaw mafia activities throughout the country.&nbsp; Luciano was actually captured by law enforcement officials in 1936, after being indicted on charges of compulsory prostitution and running a prostitution ring in New York City. Specifically, it was the New York Police Department's Special Squad that arrested Luciano in Hot Springs, Arkansas, after he had been on the run for several months, he was convicted on charges of prostitution and sentenced to 30 to 50 years in prison. During World War II, Luciano worked with the Office of Strategic Services (predecessor to the CIA) to help U.S. military intelligence infiltrate the port of New York and gather information on Nazi activities in the United States.</div>]]></description>
