Ottoman massacre against the Adana Armenians: The massacres were rooted in political, economic, and religious differences. The Armenian segment of the population of Adana was described as the "richest and most prosperous"; the violence included the destruction of "tractors and other kinds of mechanized equipment." The ottoman wanted it all, therefore, leading up to the massacre against the Adana Armenians. The reason this differentiates from the Armenian genocide is that the Ottomans Massacre against the Adanans was NOT in the context of war. During this massacre, in the city of Adana, there were reportedly a bit over 4000 Armenian dwellings that were torched. This eventually led up to outbreaks which then led up to around 30000 Armenians being massacred. The Armenians were starved to death, beaten to death, and had no treatment for illness. 1915: Armenian genocide: The Armenian genocide was a direct link to World War 1 meaning it was in the context of war, unlike the Ottoman massacre. The Armenian genocide was often called the first genocide of the century, it was the extermination of the Christina Armenians that were living under the ottoman empire during the time of 1915-1916(Approximately 1.5 million living). About 664,000 and maybe up to 1.2 million died during the genocide. The Armenians were also killed by starvation, torture, individual killing, group killing, and no treatment for illness. The Ottomans feared the Armenians leaving and going to the Russians which is what led up to the reasoning for genocide. The ottomans controlled by the Committee of Union and Progress were aiming to solidify the Muslim Turkish majority in certain regions. WW1: Eastern FrontThe Armenian genocide was influenced by WW1: Eastern front was a major show of combat during WW1, it included main operations on Russians Front, as well as the Romanian Campaigns The main countries involved were Russia and Romania against the central powers of Germany, Bulgaria, and Austria-Hungary. The Eastern front stretched from the Baltic sea to the Black sea, which was almost 2 times larger than the Western Front. The huge differences between the equipment and military quality were lacking in the west, causing more conflict and putting a larger gap in the Western side combat.

1932: Holodomor, Ukraine Forced Famine: Holodomor was marked as the first genocide that was planned out strategically and methodically and executed on the people who were food suppliers. Between 1932-1933, millions of Ukrainians were killed in the act of Holodomor due to a methodically planned famine by Joseph Stalin. The main targets of this forced starvation were rural farmers and villagers. These farmers and villages made up roughly 80% of Ukraine's total population. Russia's plan to excuse Holodomor was because of the fear that their Ukraine policies would eventually lead up to Ukraine's withdrawal from the Soviet Union. Russian Revolution / Creation of the USSR (connects to Holodomor): The end of December 1922 marks the end of the Russian Revolution and the birth of the USSR. A multi-ethnic state which promised a socialist future and national protection of identity was founded out of the “turmoil” of the civil war which was about 5 years after the Russian Revolution(marked the end of the Tsarist empire) Tsarist Russia was criticized for confining prisoners of different nationalities in what was called a “prison of nations”. Tsarist nations would be brought together in the new Soviet Union and placed under what would be called “nationalist in form, socialist in content.”

 Rape of Nanking; During the Sino-Japanese War, The Chinese government flees to Hankow because Naking the capital of China falls to Japan. The Rape of Nanking was not just a sexual assault and genocide act towards hundreds and thousands of Chinese men and women around the area of Nanjing. The Japanese killed, butchered, and sexually assaulted, an estimated 150000 male war prisoners and around 50000 innocent male civilians, and sexually assaulted an estimated 20000 women and girls of all ages. Second Sino-Japanese War (connects to Nanking) The Second Sino-Japanese war happened from 1937 until 1945. There was a conflict that broke out when China refused to give up territory when the Japanese began their expansion. Since China resisted the expansion, The Japanese Imperial Army made further advancements, which eventually ended up in the capture of Nanjing, China. Japan began a mass killing of Chinese citizens and imprisoned them as well as soldiers. These prisoners and citizens would soon be beaten, sexually assaulted, and murdered.

Holocaust; The Holocaust occurred between 1933-1945, it was the execution and torture towards approximately six million Jews by the Nazi Germany regime and it's allied. It occurred in 1933 because Hitler came into power at the time which was the start of Nazi Germany, which then ended in 1945. After all, the Allies defeated Nazi Germany in World War II. The murder of these Jews was not instant as soon as Hitler came into power, they were first singled out of Nazi Germany and were treated as minorities. The Nazis believed that the Jews were to blame for the political, economical, and social issues in the Country. The Nazis were also anti-Semitic which means they despised Jews. Since this act of Genocide was after The Great Depression, the Nazis also blamed the Jews for that historical event. This genocide was also because of the major loss in World War I, in which the Nazi Regime was not present at the time, but when Hitler came to power he was furious with the loss and blamed the Jews. Holocaust, after the treaty of Versailles, happened, Germany owed lots of money, all of these problems were blamed on the Jews which connects to the leading of the holocaust.(Connects to Holocaust)

Ache Indians Genocide; During the 1960s and 1970s Paraguay brutally murdered, and burnt down the homes of the Ache Indigenous Tribe to make room for the timber industry, mining, and farming. The death count may not be high sitting at 900 deaths, but it is a complete wipe of a tribe defining it as genocide. The Ache Tribe is now pronounced extinct and fell victim to state development in Paraguay. According to the government, it was said that they had no intention of wiping the tribe, as it occurred due to State development. So would it still be genocide if not intended? During the time the Aches were forced out of the land, now living in an even smaller territory, there needed to be clearance and room for the timber industry, mining, and mineral research, which led up to the decision of 85% of the Ache tribe being massacred.

Ethiopia's “The Red Terror”: The Red Terror was a campaign of Urban counter-insurgency in Ethiopia's main cities. The name Red Terror was used by the government, the name was a resemblance of the amounts of blood and the amount of excessive violence used to scare the population and eliminate opinions that go against power. It was one of the most systematic uses of mass killing and had a death toll way above 10000. Opposition to the Haile Selassie was linked to education, in specific University students. This showed a possibility/lead to overthrow the government

Rwandan Genocide: The Rwandan Genocide was a genocide between the Tutsi (minority) and the Hutu were the ethnic majority. There were as many as 800000 people murdered. This genocide was started by Hutu nationalists in the capital of Kigali. The genocide spread at shocking speeds leading to excessive killing and violence all around. By the time the Tutsi led the military in early July of this time, a majority, almost all of the Hutu, fled Rwanda. Rwandan president's plane was shot down (connects to Rwandan genocide): Before the plane was shot down, there were already ethnic tensions in the early 1990s. There was an overwhelming amount of agriculture and lots of density in the population, about 85% Hutu and the rest Tutsi. The Tutsi were minorities and the Hutu wanted to dominate the population.  The president’s plane was then shot down causing an outbreak.
