- In most of these cartoons the ruler/ face of the country seems larger than other aspects of the cartoon, also the larger countries are all European and are standing over Asian and African countries.
- In these cartoons each country that they are "standing over" is different and the last cartoon is different because it represents the burden of helping these countries.
- One major theme is power because is most of the cartoons the European man is large and standing on the country they are taking over, showing the more power that country has than the country it is taking over.

1.Some similar themes that are portrayed are conquering/gaining land and the theme of a clear hierarchy.
2. Some ways that they are different are that some are color and some are black and white. For the most part, I think that they are ll delivering the same message just in different, creative ways.
3. The theme of conquering land is shown by a man reaching out his arms and grabbing new land, and in a different one, a man is standing on land with one foot in each territory. This not only shows the theme of conquering territory but also that it was one person/one large group of people that conquered land. Also, in the second cartoon the other people are on their knows showing a literal hierarchy.

1. In all of the cartoons, the "ruler" is illustrated bigger then the rest of the cartoon, which I think is to show the power that Europe had while gaining land from other countries.
2. I think that all of the cartoons are all showing the same process of conquering land, or gaining power but in different ways. All of the cartoons show different locations or pieces of land being taken over. Some show the literal land being grabbed and "taken over", and others show a person having power of a group of people, but

1. I notice that in all the photos a man/leader is depicted as larger then all the other things in the cartoons. This could symbolize the arrogance the white men felt and how they say themselves above everything and how that mentality affected the oppressed people.
2. Each cartoon seems to be showing a different country and people. They are also drawn in different ways the first three seem very grand, were as the last seems to show a bad intent.

1. All the cartons have a theme of Europeans controlling other lands and trying to have all the power.
2. They are all different because each picture is directed towards different pieces of land and locations. The first has the man reaching towards all countries, the second says 'Map of China' and the third is clearly Africa.
3. A major theme throughout is white men controlling everything. Every picture includes men trying to decide the fate of the countries. I think another theme is simply a European

The first one is him grabbing each country, making it look like he conquered them so fast and easily, another one similar to this one is the third one where he is stepping across Africa. Both of these pictures display how quickly and easily he conquered Africa.
2. In most of the pictures it shows the man conquering each country and he looks proud and happy but the last one shows how it is a lot of work too.
3.

They all have the theme of controlling land and people. Only men are shown in these cartoons providing a clear idea for the observing party that women are not very relevant in politics.
2. They show different countries and types of people, but overall they convey the same message of Europeans holding all of the power.
3. Power, oppression, and the gain of land/wealth

The rulers are much larger than either the other people in the cartoon or in some cases just as big as the land they are standing on. They are mostly Europeans taking over
2. The differences to these cartoons are in most of them it shows a European taking over other countries, but in the one with the man walking up the hill, it is depicting the white mans burden and how he is carrying all of that stuff (the burden)
3. some of the main themes in these cartoons are a European ruler

Despite their being multiple people in some pictures, it seems as if one person is in rule of making the decisions for new land.
2. The pictures have a variety of different countries but the message is still the same about gaining new land for countries. There are different pictures with different symbols and characteristics.
3. I think that pictures 1 and 3 can relate to each other because it shows one ruler controlling a bunch of different things. It portrays that he is in power of many new places
