Every piece of plastic that humans fail to recycle indirectly cuts our lives shorter. A common misconception about plastic pollution is that it only negatively affects marine animals, like sea turtles. This is partially correct, as plastic pollution in the sea is detrimental to the wellbeing of marine animals like sea turtles, but this also indirectly harms the same human who litters or doesn't recycle. Every plastic, even the smallest pieces of plastic that get blown away from the wind, contributes to the emission of atmospheric greenhouse gases. These gases are melting ice caps, filling up bodies of water and making oceans rise, and will eventually make the air so warm that all of our water will evaporate that transforms our beloved Earth to an inhabitable desert. 

I will begin using less plastic water bottles and begin using water bottles that I can fill up that way I use less plastic and can save the earth.

give a new purpose to objects others may not want anymore, allowing them to not go to waste and for materials to be reused.

This is a picture I took when I went on a trip to Big Bear. I think the trees, the snow, and the sky all looked beautiful, and it made me appreciate nature more.

I can cut back on waste by not buying things unnecessarily that I will use once and throw away afterwards. I can also cut back on waste by being careful about not breaking things. Furthermore, I can cut back on waste by not using disposable products such s disposable plates, plastic bags at grocery stores, foam cups, and more!
