In March 2008, the UAE National Olympic Committee announced the participation of Sheikha Maitha in the 2008 Summer Olympics. She participated in taekwondo in the women's 67 kg category.

In 2000, Sheikha Maitha began her martial arts career. In 2004, she won the karate 65-kg class at the 10th Pan Arab Games and became the first UAE woman to win an international gold medal.[


Representing the United Arab Emirates in the 2006 Asian Games, she won the silver medal at the Women's Over 60 Kilogram karate event. In 2007, she won another gold medal at the 11th Pan Arab Games in Cairo.

Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Arabic: سعيد بن مكتوم بن راشد آل مكتوم) (born 1 October 1976) is a member of the ruling family of Dubai, equestrian, businessman and a former Olympian sport shooter.


Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum was crowned a skeet shooting champion in the Emirates comprehensive championship, the first activity of the Federation for the new season, after recovering from the “Covid 19” pandemic.

Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum won the first place, the gold and the championship cup, to be the final touch, after a strong and exciting competition between the trio of our national team, Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum (57 dishes), and Muhammad Hassan, who finished runner-up (54 dishes) and presented a distinguished performance and won the silver medal, while Saif bin Maktoum finished Fattis ranked third (44 dishes) and won the bronze medal, followed by Obaid Musbeh bin Dhawi Al-Ayed in fourth place after a strong absence (25 dishes), then Rashid Al Balushi fifth with (22 dishes), then promising shooter Salem Ahmed bin Ham sixth.




He owns international award-winning horses and a UAE football club. Sheikh Saeed is the son of Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, former Emir (Ruler) of Dubai, his uncle is the incumbent Emir of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
